The Notebook: Enduring Love
Love is patient, Love is Kind, however often times when we love someone, we forget that Love in itself is not always enough. we create expectations and we give in to the hopes easily so when they do not meet our expectations naturally our disappointment is great. However, is it really necessary to always expect from our loved ones so much to the point that we start to loathe them if they do not give in to our expectations?
Love is patient, Love is Kind, Love is forgiving, and love is about respecting one another. Love is important in every relationship whether it's with our partner or with our friends and family members.
The notebook is an all-time classic romantic film directed by Nick Cassavetes based on the book by Nicholas Spark. Starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling that brings the movie to life due to their compelling performances and chemistry. The notebook deals with the themes of enduring love and memory. It is said that First Love is often the love that you are unable to forget but I think in most cases it really depends on whether or not if they are your true love.
The film follows the love story between Noah and Allie who are young passionate lovers as the movie starts off however they are met with several difficulties due to Noah being from a poor family, Allie's mother is quite unaccepting of him. despite the struggles at first Noah tries to make it for Allie by working hard and persevering. However, during their separation, it becomes increasingly obvious that Allie is burdened by societal pressures and family obligations which causes an internal conflict within herself. Even after Allie leaves Noah, he channels his love and longing into rebuilding the house that they once dreamt of living in together. This act showcases his unconditional love and commitment for Allie.
For some the notebook may be referred as the idealized version of love and some might even call it unrealistic, but I think in reality it genuinely takes a lot to love someone unconditionally and when you do love that someone unconditionally, everything automatically becomes an idealized reality. Therefore, the notebook really just delves into the love story of Noah and Allie, their journey being a testament to the enduring power of true love and the impact it has on their lives.
