Good Bad Mother: The Role of a Mother
'Mothers' are perhaps the most beautiful beings. Their sacrifices, their dedication, their love, care and consideration are the things that make a good mother. It's not easy being a mother well that's certain, women are blessed with ability to create, and I think that in itself is the most beautiful aspect of being a woman.
'The Good Bad Mother' is a melodramatic, heartwarming Korean show staring Ra Miran as Kangho's mother, Lee Do-Hyun as Kangho and Ahn Eun-Jin as Mijoo, the show follows the story of a mother (Kangho's) and a son (Kangho) whose relationship is sure to bring anyone in tears. The first few episodes of the show portray Kangho as an unjust prosecutor who only thinks about himself which is directly shown as a result of the years of torment that he went through as child due to his mother, not being able to hangout or even play with his friends because his mother always forced and pressured him to study hard until he becomes a prosecutor, in order to bring justice for his father who was wrongfully killed. Now, at first it looks like the mother's extreme pressure on her son actually resulted him to turn into a bad person, but the actual case is much more complicated. I would be lying if I said that I didn't despise the mother in the beginning, she was selfish always putting her expectations on her son, never letting him live his life properly but as the story progresses you end up feeling bad for his mother understanding why she did everything, and the more you watch the show are left with nothing but care for both the characters who went through so much.
When Kangho goes through an accident that makes him lose all his memories which turns him back to when he was seven years old this is where the story starts to shift to a completely melodramatic show. Kangho's mother calls this a second chance from God as she redeems herself for the years of torment that she put her son through because now that her son has lost his memories she can start over and built a healthy relation with him. The relationship between the mother and her son is the highlight of this show, and also the performances delivered by the actors is impeccable.
I think if you were to count the number of times I cried while watching this show then you could actually fill a bucket with my tears. I truly love this show, and I recommend this show to everyone especially if you like melodramatic kdramas like me.
Until Next Time!!!!
