Summer Strike: A heartfelt love story between two introverts

The bustling city life can get tiring, where everything is so fast paced life can get hectic in a city. There is very little room for peace. Yeo-Reum is the protagonist of the drama Summer Strike, which is a heartfelt love story that resonates with everyone. The story follows Yeo-Reum a twenty-eight year old woman who quits her job and moves to a village because her life kept going on a downward spiral in the city, I think what Yeo-Reum does here is important to understand because she does not just leave everything behind because she felt like it but rather it was to start fresh by understanding herself better and by finding her own individuality. She was always caught up with what to do and what not to do thus it came to the point that she didn't even know herself anymore thus her moving out of the city was not just an impulsive decision.

As Yeo-Reum settles in the village she meets Daebom who is a local librarian, they are shown to have interest for each other from the first glance itself well not Yeo-Reum, but Daebom sure does anyways Yeo-Reum and Daebom's relationship takes time to bloom as they get to know each other, go on dates and spend time with each other in the library, most of all their relationship is pretty uneventful to say the least but it's a realistic portrayal of a healthy introverted couple. Their love story develops slowly but gracefully allowing the audience to immerse themselves in their quiet and peaceful lives. Yeo-Reum learns how to love herself and understand herself better and as we see her progress as a character, we feel emotionally connected with her.

Another thing that I really like about this show is that there are no cliche plotlines, silly love triangles, exaggerated characters, or really dramatic soundtracks, it only involves the story of two introverts falling in love. It feels fresh and peaceful to watch a drama like this that resonates with our day-to-day life without much of an exaggeration. However, this show is really slow paced so if you are not really a fan of slow-paced shows then this might not be your cup of tea but if you like slow paced shows then what's better than a quiet and gentle love story therefore do give summer strike a watch.

Until Next Time!!
