What Will People Say?

'What Will People Say' is a 2017 internationally co-produced movie directed and written by Iram Haq, starring Maria Mozdah as Nisha, the protagonist and Adil Hussain as Nisha's father.

The story revolves around the life of a Pakistani teenager Nisha in Norway who lives a double life, with her Norwegian friends she tries to fit in, going to parties, drinking, smoking etc, but with her parents she is the perfect daughter who tries to live up to their expectation. Nonetheless, she is a teenager at the end of the day, so she ends up making a mistake which turns her entire life around so as a form of punishment her father decides to send her to Pakistan to stay with her aunt and I won't be spoiling much about the movie because I do want everyone to watch this movie for themselves. 

This movie is art in itself, depicting the harsh reality. The words "what will people say" resonates with the people who are from conservative households, Indian households in itself utter the above words more than they say 'I love you' to their kids, it's absolutely shattering to say the least. 

Adil Hussain is an outstanding actor, his performance in this movie is outmatched, while watching the movie I was left with so much of anger towards him which says a lot about his performance. Nevertheless, this movie is an emotional ride, conveying a deep and sensible message that is sure to bring you to tears so do give this movie a watch if you are up for an emotional rollercoaster.
